September 17 from 1400 Minsk time
The main goal of the event is to give a virtual stage to founders and tech and startup industry representatives from Belarus to discuss the current challenges and issues they are facing and what international support is needed right now on the ground.
The event is organized by the Latvian startup community, however, aims to reach founders, investors, ecosystem builders, and more not only in Latvia but also in Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Finland, Ukraine, and more.
People in the Baltics know very well what it is like to live without freedom and are committed to helping in any way possible. Yet, there is a lot of information, assumptions, and speculations going on.
Spotlight: Belarus Tech gives the floor to the tech community in Belarus to hear directly what is happening, how it affects the industry and its people, what the world should know, and how the listeners can help.
The opening keynote by Pavel Liber, Senior Director of Digital Strategy & Experience Design at EPAM Systems AND creator of Voice (Golos) platform, will tackle the topic of the Belarusian tech and startup ecosystem’s difficult journey to beat 26 years of dictatorship. Pavel Liber is one of the most active opposition leaders and founder of Voice (Golos) platform, which was created in order to compare the official election results with the votes that the platform users have cast. Questions such as the evidence that votes for Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya were not properly counted, why there is a difference between the numbers on the Voice (Golos) platform and the official results, and why Alexander Lukashenko could not have received 80% of the votes, and more will be discussed during his keynote.
The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion “What’s next for Belarus tech & how can we help” involving several tech and startup ecosystem representatives from Belarus, including venture investor Cyril Golub, Darya Danilova, co-founder and CEO at Rocketdata.io, and Imaguru representative.
